Please keep your donor mods coming, if I have interpreted wrongly, please let me know...

The simpler the better I say. # stands for post number, people can give as much info as possible and any links
to various articles on their posting, how too's, part no's etc

If when you post, and later want to say/add/takeout something, if folks edit their original page, it'll keep things altogether...

I replaced one for somebodys F, cost £4 from a rover 400 and its still going strong 4 years later! if you didnt know the TF units are poorly made and the units in the MGF's are better quality so you could of fitted a used one of them also_Originally Posted by Craigie TF

Great idea Mindy. If the list starts getting long are you going to rearrange in alphabetical order or engine body electrics etc. Rather than everyone having to read every post, in hope. and are you going for direct fits or can be fitted with a bit of modification. Rep for idea. Hope it takes off.

Lets split into appropiate groups and alphabetical order ( given time) not sure how too, but mods might help.It won't work without input, even if folks mention a mod seen, all mods ok, if classed as EASY...

MFU...Multi Functional Unit...........MGTF

ISSUE: internal lights won't go out,.......other possibilities,....but......

Red box clipped on behind internal fuse board (drivers side knee)
http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=318107
ISSUE....

The same unit was used on the 200, 400, 25, 45, ZR, ZS, F and TF so it should be easy to find one at a scrapyard etc.

Interior items only? Only reason why i say this is that the engine can be any K series so most engine parts should swop over.

Technozens Low Fuel light.....
Glove box..... lol
Stearing wheel..
Indicators.... R400

Good idea.

Compare part numbers on the EPC?
Ask an XPART Parts Stockist?
Speak with Rimmer Bros?
Start a thread yourself and maintain post#1?
Start a site like petevick did?

Great idea, I used to run yank motors for many years and with a bit of work found that things like an oil filter from a john deer tractor was the same as a ford 5.7 v8 but was less than half the price. As someone new to MGs it would be great to know of cheeper alternatives.

Thanks, for the ideas,I shall look into more at the weekend, more time then.

I think the original parts/donor needs to be created in a way as simple as poss. like a Book, Chapter, Page. ( B=Exterior, C=Wheels P= OEM No,..Donor)

Thinking out loud, anyone fancy joining forces, and having a go with me...

Lordy. I was thinking that the other day! I thought I saw the brakes on an F came from the 800 series (may be wrong) the wing mirrors and interior door pulls come from the 200 range. See Karas flash new door mirrors from GW via ebay.

I aim to please Mindy. I don't even hit the target some days though!

I know someone here fitted 800 series indicator/wiper stalks to his F not so long ago. I don't know if it is a straight swop though. I also suspect R75 interior door handle with the shiny chrome might fit an F mk 2 but these are non standard fits.

The VVC engines are the same, but with a slightly different gearbox ratio. Also the unit has mechanical power steering not electric so you have to remove the power steering unit. This is run from the alternator wheel, same one as the F, so its just a case of unbolting the PS unit and taking off the extra belt.
The has exhaust downpipe is different, but the VVC unit/manifold etc is the same. Clutch/Flywheel is the same. Dipstick has to be swapped for the crappy F one. Engine loom wiring is slightly different so that has to be swapped.
