I travel in the North and South of Ireland quite frequently and would love to see additions to the listings of acceptable repair gargares - look in the 75 list of threads to see what I mean.

The Official Reccommended Garage Listing (located in the 75 Section)still shows that Northern Ireland has NONE. It would be nice to see some to cater for those who travel - the positive feedback on a garage ios of great value. Of course, this also applies to the Republic.

I couldn't agree more. I have been to a handful of garages for mostly services/mot preps and cant say I've been overly pleased with one aspect or another. My Rover 75 is due a MOT and service again (running very well with no problems that I know of - I know little about cars - just enjoy driving this motor) and I would love to try a new garage. I am not that fussy - just want a thorough job that I can trust at a decent price.....too much to ask????

Well, I tried googling for Cafolla Auto Services Aghalee and found this thread. :doh:
That company name seems not to be on the web at all - though I now know that "Aghalee" means "field of calves"...
...unless you get your oil changed in a fish and chip shop...
EDIT for Gino Cafolla the matches are all on bebo.com...

Not sure if he advertises as he has built his workshop behind his house (and it is a proper workshop with all the gubbins). He's a qualified Landy mechanic and knows a good bit about Rovers to boot
I might give the guy a go next time I need anything done to the F. It's a lot closer to me than other garages that I would trust.
If you can get his number, that would be great
HI,i use a guy who is ex mg rover,seems to know all the common probs with them,says he loves doing K series h/gaskets-can do them blindfolded!!,any way he's called RR auto repairs+his place is not too far from the La Mon hotel on the glen rd into comber..

Speedway autos in belfast. I've used this guy for all my tf needs. He's ex-charles hurst and is a sound bloke. Went and spoke to him before buying mg to ask some q's. He didn't know me from adam and took time out to talk me into buying an mg!

robert used to work with trevor in mg/rover so both guys really know their stuff! i think rob's prices are a bit less dealership prices, ie. 1 drive shaft oil seal supplied and fitted gearbox oil changed and handbrake tightened, and plenum drains removed grand total...............£35 all in (seal was £13) so not bad at all!!if you ring him for any quotes tell him i gave you his number he will sort you out
I know this is maybe a wee bit too far north but McSorleys of Draperstown do fantastic work and they know their diagnostics and electrical work like the back of their hand, I had several faults flagging up and Colin had all of them sorted in under 45 mins, that was over 2years ago and never had a problem or a light on since!!
And for anyone looking body repair work there's Andrew glendinning who's up by the supervalue in Portstewart, does a great job!!
