A great start to the year - relatively at least.
This year I'm going to stop tracking Alfa Romeo which has become a high-priced, low-volume brand, and Mitsubishi which has announced its departure from Europe.
Renault, Citroën and MINI are next if MG can beat these manufacturers - and those brands are surely Sales First Division, though not Premier League.

Off we go again, last month of 70 reg and a short month. Showrooms continue to be shut all over the UK.

Midsummer's Day the end of lockdown, is a long way off!
There continues to be a steady stream of new EV registrations and you don't get the feeling that MG have a glut of new cars rusting outdoors (here Rockingham 2021 similar to the airfields of Cortinas in 1975). Rockingham: Ex-racetrack used to store thousands of vehicles

831. gnu's late call among a select group of guessers wins the day, but I am allowing the guess as my number was too high anyway and G0MRL would have won otherwise!

It's turning out to be quite a year. With the market down over a third but MG a fifth or under, not only Fiat are in the rear view mirror, also Dacia and Suzuki - but New Aspirational Competitors Mazda and medium term target Honda are both behind MG already too as are - Renault (Feb month)!

End of March coming up. March is normally one of the two busiest months with the new registration but most UK showrooms have been closed throughout, though I think Wales is coming out of lockdown early and the police are cracking down on any English hairstyles trying to sneak across the border.
The UK-wide EV subsidy was cut, and abolished overnight for all cars over IIRC £40k which has affected Tesla Model 3. All MG EVs still qualify for the reduced amount and I think some dealers are offering a discount equivalent to the cut in the subsidy for the rest of the month.
Things looked very worrying a year ago and I paused the game, but MG sold 2,736 in what was mostly a pre-lockdown boom month. Last month was 831. How many sales were boosted for 21 reg in lockdown? I'll guess 1,108 again , or 60% down on 2020!

I think that a lot of ZS EV registrations are for PHV as it makes kind of sense.
