If you have a removable bulb in your lights then they will mist up as they are not sealed. Only those gas filled or in a vacuum will be immune from misting up.

The C1, R25, and my old Saab misted the lamps slightly. The only one that didn't was my Audi.

My dad's TF does it a fair bit, can't say I've noticed on my mums 500.

If the bulbs are fitted in warm damp weather and then the lamps sealed up by fitting the caps then it is inevitable that they will mist up slightly in cold weather. The simple solution is to fit a small bag of silica gel into the caps before sealing them up. It also protects the mirrored surfaces from oxidation and keeps the lights nice and bright for decades.

Works on my ZS, will work on anything as long as it is not actually leaking.

Maybe the problem is that the factory at Longbridge where the lights/bulbs are fitted still has no proper heating to keep the air dry ;)

Now that is a smart idea! :broon:

We get loads of them little bags in at work when we order laptops and other IT equipment, might start pilfering them just in case! My ZR's headlights don't mist up that I've noticed!

A Woman in Auto Express complaining how bad her Vauxhall Adam is and how poor the service from Vauxhall is. Misting headlamps is one of the issues, amongst many others.

Tyre Pressure Warning Light

To test the water, I have an issue with the tyre pressure warning light remaining on despite over-inflating the tyres. It would flash if there was a system fault, so I will take it back to the dealer for investigation.

Has anyone had a similar issue?
my tpms comes on when I start the car and flashes ,I reset it then 2 days later its on again flashing, this has been happening for a month now, first time was the same day the car had just had its first service, I rang MG , they told me I would have to wait 5 weeks before they could look at it, they had it in today and said there is nothing wrong with the system and that the tyre presures were too low all at 29.5 psi i explained that i have tried different presures just to see if it helps but to no avail they sent me away saying i should get my tyres checked . The light does not come on while driving only at startup every other day.

I've owned mine second hand for about 8 months now.

I had an issue with the DAB radio not working. A second hand DAB module and a brand new aerial solved the issues. Total cost of £61 for both parts.

I occasionally get an air bag fault but a wiggle of the seat connector sorts that.

Occasionally get TMPS warning but just reset it each time.

Reverse sensors are useless in the wet sadly but work great in the dry.

The only other issue I have is a judder when pulling off first thing, once the car is warmed up it seems to go away.

Faulty Lights - coming on when car parked

My 13 plate MG3 Style Lux has an issue with lights coming on all by themselves and thus draining the battery. The 1st time it happened (under my ownership) was when car was 3 years 1 month old. Whilst trying to jump start noticed Main Beam on even though lights off! Battery was replaced as not charging properly (according to AA) the Tyre Pressure light came on! Next time (2nd) was about 3 months later. Went to start the car and was able to jump started to find that Lights On Full drove to work also noticed Cruise Control not working. Had to jump start car again for journey home but lights turned off. Used car next day Cruise Control worked. Took car to Garage they could not find a fault. Went to use car on 21st October (about a month later than 2nd) started car but Full Beam came on although lights in off! I have taken car again to Garage hopefully as in fault mode will find problem.

Will update.

But has anyone else had similar problem?

UPDATE

No fault found at the local garage.

Used car for holiday trip it happened again. Car looked at by a EMU specialist, they could not find an issue, eventually booked in with Bulldog in Twyford. They found a fault the light column. Apparently my MG3 style lux has 'get home lights' which I did not know about and unlike my Astra only the headlights come on and not all the lights. Unfortunately they worked both ways forwards and back flash and through general use of using mainbeam had become loose so came on by themselves! New light column fitted and appears to have resolved the issue.

For Stop/Start Models but also for all models to avoid underfloor corrosion in the future!

Check your carpets under the front seats after heavy rain.

Eventually your DC/DC box will become flooded and the car will no longer crank (no power on dash or radio)

If you find your door seals are hard and not soft this is where the rain gets in.
