Rover 416 does not have connectors for seat belt pretensioners under seats. Connectors you are showing are for heated seats - first picture connector with wires that goes under dash and second picture, connectors from heated seat ellements.

Glad you cleared that out for me, i just got this car from my father in law so i dont have much knowledge about it, or with rovers in general as they are pretty rare in finland.
Also i could not find any connectors to put the two wires in that are shown in the pictures, they are just hanging there and no wonder my seat warmers isnt working.

When did the problem start? make sure the connection is fine between the airbag harness, if you are not familiar with the process take it to a specialist(be extra careful with that, as you could be more expert than some of them),now, If you are, take both battery poles with the light switch on and wait at least 15 minutes before you remove the steering wheel, you will need to look at this

I had to put a very small part of wire in the airbag plug itself to make contact properly, the metal inside was loose a little bit in my case! no more light since then!

Let us informed!

Thanks for the reply!

This problem started when we switched the battery to a new one because the car had been sitting for a year.
I am familiar with the harness if you mean the two yellow cables under the dash, also a good note that i have tried this:
with no luck.
Im now waiting for a OBD reader before im willing to go further.

I will try the method you said when i have some time off work and will post an update here.

Edit: I realised you probably meant the harness inside the steering wheel, no im not familiar with that :D.

After a long time of searching for a fault somewhere it turns out it was just a moisture problem. Had the car running for about one hour and the light went off but was on again the next day, then i had the car running for two hours and the light disappeared again and haven't shown up in a week or so.
