at least posting here I can use the odd bad word and get this off my chest so to speak without the entire MG/Rover family seeing it.

So,Had a sore throat for the last 8 weeks :frown:

Finally got an appointment to see a Dr. thinking a course of antibiotics would sort it.

And Dr refered me to a Consultant in less time than it took to get past the appointment gestapo at the Gp's.

Kept getting fobbed off with a sore throat is not an emergency.
The only appointment is in 2 weeks time.
Stupidly thinking it would have cleared up by then.but it didn't.

Well it turns out the non emergency sore throat (lost about 10 kilos in 2 weeks)
Is................
Pick a letter between B & D. Give you a clue it ends in ancer.:|:|:|
head is in a whirl at the minute.
Appointments are flooding in.

**** I haven't used ******* hell yet.

On a plus I haven't had a fag since.
Oh yeah and getting the camera up the nose to view the throat isn't as bad as people have made out.

Yes it went in my nostril not up my ******* bum.

Hello mate, how are you doing now ?
Did you loose teeth as well ?
What type of 'C' was it ?
Guessing it was the ciggies that may have caused it but you are off to a good start, chin up and keep us posted. (y)

Cheers ,:D

They took all my back teeth out as a precaution. 10 of them.
Throat cancer either caused by ciggies/alcohol or lifestyle.
heavy smoker of rollies, social drinker, ate a healthy diet and due to chucking bags of coal about I got plenty of excercise.

Up until this weekend I've been making remarkable improvements.
Then........
Bloody sore throat.
This is how it all started.:(

Just had first PET scan.
visually (camera down throat) shows no nasties on the surface.
The scan (when I see the consultant for the results) will show
if it's still there or moved elsewhere.

PET scan results came back with glowing bits in the neck (not good)

Pre Op check tomorrow and a good "look see" on Wednesday under general anestetic.

Was back at the hospital for the results of the biopsy I had a couple of weeks ago.
This came back with no cancer cells found (y)

Looks like the chemo and radio I had over the summer has worked.
In the clear for now, just hope all check ups over the next 5 years are the same.

had a check up yesterday at the hospital after being checked for space aids ( covid 19) first.
camera down throat showed no nasties.

not been checked for 3 months due to the current situation.

yesterday was a double bonus. No cancer and no space aids.

also it's a year to the day when I had my first consultation. Not had a ciggie since(y)
