My friend has a Vectra c 2.0 dti. It has a funny egr setup and wants to know if it can be deleted from the ecu... Have you ever remapped one of these?

Sorry didn't see this until now - tucked away in the other models section - any chance you could PM me some details (year, engine code if known etc?)

There's a few hardware combinations for these, ranging from similar setups like the l-series through to integrated hybrid ecu's on the injection pump which requires quite specialist equipment to program.

I have this equipment, but if you can give me any further details it'd help me pinpoint more accurately what the jobs likely to involve.

ta!

It's a 2003 Vectra c 2.0dti. Model LS. Engine code Y20DTH.
It's a pre-facelift model with half canbus as found in the earlier cars; buttons on steering wheel rather than the scroll type switches.

He's more curious than anything for advice on what is possible with it map wise. Egr delete, swirl flaps, mafless etc

The complication is that these have a few different engine management combinations, easiest way to tell is simply by looking at the injection pump, some have one connector going to it, some have two. I expect this to be the one connection, which would be the earlier tandem-ecu systems (a bit like our rovers really).

I had a frontera 2.2dti a while back which had the single connector PSG5 injection pump, these could be mapped quite happily. The two connector types are tunable too but need my more advanced equipment to do.

I haven't had a specific request for either mafless or egr deletion with these, though I've just downloaded a few files for the single connector variant of the software and I've found the function switch area for these so adding mafless/egr should be quite trivial in all fairness.

Let me know if you need any more details, turbo is a GT15 variant so not a massive difference from our L-series, though we do need to look after the injection pump (we've got the dodgy fuel pumps in common too!)

I'm keeping this breif as I'm being called away as I type. If he's interested in getting a tune done at some point though i'm happy to do some digging through the firmware.
