The Diesel U spec gearbox apart from having the wrong bell housing pattern is also stronger with a different output shaft and uprated larger bearings

Apart from the bell housing bolts being in different places, and the internals being less beefy, there is also the not insignificant factor that you would be taking a gearbox geared to work with an engine which revs to above 7000rpm, and putting it to an engine which only revs to about 4500rpm. I'll leave you to do the maths ;)
