As title says i bought a rover 25 gti a few months ago which has been off the road for nearly 3years but only has 55k on it but headgasket has failed which the previous own was going to keep the car as a project but got in touch with me to see if i wanted it and i decided to buy it as price was right and i was going to do headgasket and sell it on but since the car didn't cost me much i have decided to keep it for a project and got a few plans for this so watch this space and hears pics as it stands today

yeh mate had mg hairpins and lexus rear lights and front auto art indicators but sold all those things and got some mods on the inside to but got some nice plans for this 25 but will be a slow project

little update engine is all stripd down also took suspension out along with wheel archs so i can paint them and power wash it all down first tho

also got both wings removed as they are just scrap really and removed the front bumper and both headlamps

Bit of rust on those arches so worth doing - my r200 has a bit of corrosion there. Looking at the cyl liners, are they as rusty as they look on the outside? Run without antifreeze perhaps?

yeh mate well worth changing the wings instead of trying to sort them out but yeh pal pretty rusty but she has been sat nearly 3years without doing much

update

picked up some more aless brand new pro sport shocks with springs and also came with more lowring springs which are lower than the ones on the shocks but not sure if i will use them yet but the suspension hasn't seen a road they was just bolted on to a car which never left the garden so very please with them and the price haha

also managed to get the arches primerd and painted up but they need a couple more coats of paint before i fit the suspension and arch liners

i will paint the drive shafts, steering arm and the rest of the rusty bits once i have the suspension and hubs refited so it will all look nice haha

indeed mate what the car to last as long as possible and yeh am sure they will but this one wont be standard once i have finished lol but i picked them up on ebay for £75 for the lot

haha get your self a 200 man but not much going on with the beast but will re make the progress thread as i have a few plans for the new year

Little update as not had alot of time to work on the lil rover but managed to get a new water pump fitted

also got the passenger front brake line replaced as i no it will end up failing on brake pipes when it EVENTUALLY goes for a test lol and also fitted the strut in

i also decided to replace the anti roll bar link bolt, 2x bolts that hold the lower suspension arm support bar, the bolt that goes threw the bush on the suspension arm and the hub pinch bolt as the ones i removed where all slightly bent and no point risking putting them back and braking and also have the same bolts to replace on the drivers side when i get round to that side

will have another small update over the weekend depending on weather

weekend update started smoothing front bumper got the rub strips fiber glass filled and a skim of filler over it will be finished perfectly when it comes to priming the bumper

and also managed to get the rest the passenger side primerd and a coat of black on it
