Think the rain has caused my car to start acting weird loosing power an not taking the rev etc then just takin off. but with the airflow disconnected its fine.


btw havnt went through an huge puddles or anything to suck up water

probably sucked up some water somehow as maf's are known to hate the damp.

See how it is when it dries out, might be worth a clean but if no improvement might need to replace.

Also worth inspecting the intake to avoid repetition of failure.

Mafless map sounds appealing to me at the mintue. will the water it may have sucked up damage the engine or would it only be minimal

i wouldnt worry too much, im sure you'll notice if anything more serious occured, but i would examine the intake :)

Would the splash guards not in the front of the car have anything to do with lol. just remembered i didnt put them back in after spraying

You may find brake cleaning spray directly onto the MAF sensor sorts it - I did. Just don't anything like WD40.

Mine did this a few years ago when i was on the motorway, it was hammering it down and all of a sudden my car lost all power, I managed to get it to a service station, unplugged it. Once the maf had dried out it was spot on again,
