Hello, my Rover 75 refused to start yesterday, towed to the mechanics and much to my horror the mechanic says there is an immobilizer unit down near the door somewhere which has somehow got water in it and shorted the solenoid which apparently is part of the immobilizer and can't be replaced separately. Mechanic says he may have to buy one from the UK, anyone had a similar experience or know where to source a part locally?

Cant say Ive heard of that issue, especially over here.
You would think it would be a bigger problem in the UK with their weather ?
Not heard of it there either.
Id post it on the 75/ZT page and see if somone has heard of it.
If there is an issue you might find its a BMW part as alot of the cars electronics are Bosch (BMW) bits, failing that there might be some wreckers around with the odd 75 /zt.
